Moving into your student apartment preparing your arrival

Looking forward to starting life in your new home in Straubing? Here’s everything you need to know about moving into your student apartment:

  • Move-in window: The keys are usually handed over before the lease period officially begins
  • What you should bring with you: Personal belongings, sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, etc. – Your apartment is furnished, but not fully equipped.
  • On site: You’ll receive your keys and a short tour of the student housing facilities and your apartment.

Moving out of the student housing facility the right way to vacate your apartment

Perhaps your studies in Straubing are finished or you’re moving out for other reasons. In order to ensure that your move out of your student apartment goes smoothly, please note the following

  • Give notice of the lease termination on time: You may terminate the lease with no need to provide a reason, effective at the end of each respective semester (i.e., either 31 March or 30 September each year) by giving 3 months’ notice.
  • Preparations: The apartment/shared flat room must be cleaned before handing it over. Remove all personal items, empty the fridge and make sure the bathroom is clean. Where necessary, cosmetic repairs such as painting walls and ceilings may be required at the end of the lease.
  • Handover date: Be sure to inform us of your preferred final handover date in good time. We’ll prepare a handover report with you on site, recording any damage or missing features detected.
